Redirect Violence: Flow Through Fight Scenes
What happens when we approach a fight scene through flow rather than force?
This is a movement workshop for actors and movement practitioners who are curious about fight scenes and looking for a gentle, embodied way into physical interaction.
Drawing from Tai Chi - Chinese internal martial arts, the workshop explores the relationship between intention, qi and movement — how intention initiates action, how qi carries it through the body, and how movement can flow between partners.
We will explore principles of connection, redirection, timing, weight and responsiveness, and apply them to fight choreography and physical storytelling.
The workshop is an opportunity to approach fight scenes not simply as a sequence of techniques, but as a form of dynamic physical interaction — where attention, intention and movement are constantly responding to one another.
No previous fight experience is required. The work is approached through curiosity, awareness and listening to the body.
