Join folklorist and storyteller Rissa Miller for an immersive journey through Lancaster’s supernatural past. We’ll wander (through story and photographs) into historic homes, graveyards, and Main Street landmarks where sightings, strange happenings, and eerie encounters continue to ripple through local memory. You’ll hear accounts drawn from oral history, regional folklore, newspaper archives, and firsthand reports that reveal a Lancaster rarely seen.
Together, we’ll explore why certain spirits linger, what tragedy or devotion binds them to a place, and how ghost stories help preserve the city’s heritage. We’ll trace the evolution of Lancaster’s hauntings from colonial legends to contemporary encounters, and consider how folklore shapes the way communities understand their dead, their past, and themselves.
