Join MNRR in removing invasive Eastern Red Cedar from Green Island Recreation Area!
- WHEN: Saturday, October 17th from 8am-12pm
- WHERE: Green Island Recreation Area
- WHAT: Volunteers will travel by boat from Riverside Park to Green Island Recreation Area. At Green Island we'll set out cutting down Eastern Red Cedar saplings using loppers and shears, promoting biodiversity and helping other native plants thrive! Cutting down the saplings can be strenuous and involves frequent bending.
- WHO CAN VOLUNTEER: All ages are welcome! Anyone under 15 will need a parent/guardian present.
- WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, water, sunscreen, and insect repellant. All other tools and protective gear will be provided.
Registration is REQUIRED & caps at 10 volunteers.
