This free community event gives residents a convenient way to recycle, declutter, and safely dispose of items from around their homes. Attendees are encouraged to bring food and toiletry donations to support local families.Residents may bring tires for Tire Amnesty Day. Tires must be 22 inches or smaller, without rims, and a valid Suffolk ID is required.
A secure document‑shredding station will be on-site, operated by the Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and Suffolk Sheriff’s Office. Please bring only documents containing personal or sensitive information. General paper waste, junk mail, magazines, and newspapers should not be brought for shredding.
The following items will be accepted for recycling or disposal:
• Electronics (No tube TVs or TVs over 42 inches)
• Gently used shoes and clothing
• Household wares
• #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs
• Cardboard, paper, and magazines
• Plastic bags
• Large appliances
• Scrap metal
• Glass containers
• U.S. flags requiring proper decommissioning
SPSA Waste Solutions will collect household hazardous waste. Items accepted include:
• Oil
• Gasoline
• Batteries
• Cleaners
• Propane tanks
• Paint
• Pesticides
• CFL lightbulbs and more
(Limits: 75 pounds or five liquid gallons; Suffolk residents only.)
The Lion’s Club will collect eyeglasses and hearing aids.
Gently used plant pots will be accepted by the Suffolk Master Gardeners.
