About this Event
Welcome to the Scholars in Solidarity Reclaiming Our Rest Retreat!
Reclaiming Our Rest Retreat is a sacred sanctuary explicitly designed for Black women in academia to step away from the demands of their everyday lives and into a space of intentional rest, reflection, and restoration. Held in the peaceful heart of Texas Hill Country from March 19–22, 2026, this multi-day retreat offers a nourishing blend of stillness, creativity, community, and care.
Rooted in the belief that rest is not a luxury but a form of resistance and liberation, this retreat invites participants to slow down, reconnect with their inner selves, and experience rest as a radical and necessary act of healing.
From restorative wellness activities, communal meals, and reflective workshops, the retreat offers an opportunity to unplug from urgency and reconnect with joy, breath, and being.
This retreat is created with Black women educators, scholars, administrators, and change-makers in mind—those who give so much to others and deserve a space where they can simply be.
