About this Event
Reclaim Armistice Day Wednesday, November 11th with an evening of community, reflection, and creative resistance as we honor the original promise of the 1918 Armistice: peace between nations.
Join Veterans For Peace, Chapter 46, in honoring the 108th Anniversary of Armistice Day, now called Veterans Day, as we remember all veterans and the human cost of war.
The Evening Program
• Guest speaker Seth Donnelly, educator, co-founder of Taxpayers Against Genocide, and longtime organizer with the Haiti Action Committee.
• No Kings: Paul Revere Resists!, a new one-act radio play by Writers for Democratic Action, performed by local veterans. This fresh take on Longfellow’s Paul Revere’s Ride celebrates ordinary Americans standing up to kings—then and now.
• Open mic, including a presentation, WWI: The War to End All Wars and The Forgotten Promise by VFP Chapter 46 member, Jack Erickson. Bring a story, poem, song, quote, or reflection on the cost of war and the possibilities for peace.
• Potluck dinner. Bring a dish to share if you can!
