Rebuilding Lives Conference 2026

The Rebuilding Lives Conference brings together the spinal cord injury (SCI) community, giving people the chance to learn more about the impact of SCI and exploring how the sector can work together to achieve improved outcomes for life after injury.

The theme of the 2026 conference is Breaking Barriers, Building Futures Together.

This annual conference is hosted by Spinal Injuries Association, offering a platform for education, inspiration, action and collaboration. Convening the sector, it brings together healthcare professionals, carers, researchers, and partners, as well as people with their own experiences of living with spinal cord injury.

What unfolds is proof that we are always stronger when we come together - two days of powerful storytelling, continued collaboration and networking, and action for change to ensure all people with spinal cord injury can lead fulfilled lives.
This year, for the first time, we have applied for CPD accreditation for the whole conference so delegates can earn professional development credits.

2026 FULL PROGRAMME COMING SOON but speaker sessions include:
• Latest developments from Parliament and Government and why it matters for spinal cord injury
• Closing the gap in women’s healthcare after spinal cord injury
• How SCI continues to be transformed by innovation in research
• Clinicians and lived experience experts reflecting on the ambitions of the NHS Long Term Plan
• How charities can work with the NHS to bring about change at scale
• How a network of support spanning many people and organisations demonstrates we are stronger together and can bring about real-life impact for people with SCI

The conference unfolds over Thursday 1 October and Friday 2 October, and the Thursday evening sees our Rebuilding Lives Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and groups in the spinal cord injury community, who inspire others through their work, volunteering, services, support or raising awareness. The awards ceremony and dinner are included in the ticket price.
Tickets: All tickets include entrance to the full two day conference and attendance for the evening Rebuilding Lives Awards on Thursday 2 October 2026. We are pleased to offer a reduced rate for NHS healthcare professional and charities.
