Ready, Steady, Climate: Practical Climate Action for Food & Drink Businesses
19 January | 10.15am–1pm | The Smiddy, Blair Drummond
Free event for Forth Valley food and drink businesses
Want to reduce your business's environmental impact, but not sure where to start? Or perhaps you're already making changes and have learned a few things along the way that you’d like to share?
Join Forth Valley Food and Drink and FEL Scotland’s Forth Valley Climate Hub Team for Ready, Steady, Climate: a practical, informal session for Forth Valley’s food and drink community. Share ideas, learn from others and discover simple actions that can make a difference to both carbon emissions and your bottom line.
Real experiences, practical ideas
We’ll hear from local food and drink businesses about the changes they’ve made, what has worked, what hasn’t, and the challenges they’re still trying to solve: from minimising food waste and packaging, to increasing the amount of local produce they serve.
You’ll also have the opportunity to speak with Forth Valley Climate Hub’s energy expert, who’ll be on hand to answer your questions about energy use, efficiency, heating and where to start with reducing costs and carbon.
We’ll share resources, ideas and local climate knowledge to help food and drink businesses connect, collaborate and build climate resilience across the region. Including a practical Ready, Steady, Climate toolkit packed with tips, checklists and ideas for taking action in your own business.
Learn from businesses like yours
We know that sustainability can sometimes feel like another job on an already long to-do list. That's why this event is about real businesses, practical ideas and honest conversations, not perfection!
Whether you're a local café, restaurant, producer, farm shop, food manufacturer, caterer or other food and drink business, you'll have the chance to share your own experiences and learn from others facing similar challenges.
We'll explore what businesses can do now, where it makes sense to invest over the next few years, and what longer-term changes could help businesses move towards net zero.
Share, connect and collaborate
The session will be followed by a free networking lunch, giving you the chance to continue the conversation, meet other local businesses and explore potential collaborations.
Come along with your questions, your successes, your frustrations and perhaps one thing you'd like to change in your business in 2027.
Together let's make climate action practical, local and achievable.
