Midstate Independent Living Choices (MILC) is excited to offer a special Ready, Set, Cook! Holiday Workshop Series designed for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Whether you're preparing for a holiday gathering, looking to try new recipes, or simply want to build confidence in the kitchen, these hands-on cooking classes offer a fun opportunity to learn new skills and create delicious seasonal dishes.
From sweet treats and festive meals to comforting winter favorites, there's something for everyone!
Choose the classes that interest you most, or join us for the entire six-class series!
Workshop Dates & Details
November 9 | Sweet Treats
Kick off the holiday season with delicious homemade treats! Participants will learn to prepare seasonal sweets that are perfect for sharing at holiday gatherings or enjoying at home.
On the Menu:
Baked Apples
Holiday Trail Mix
Participants will prepare a dessert to finish at home.
November 10 | Let's Make a Meal
Learn how to create a festive, nontraditional holiday meal! Participants will prepare a delicious main entrée, side dish, and vegetable while practicing cooking skills.
On the Menu:
Pork Chop Apple Bake
Simple Mashed Potatoes
Participants will prepare their meals at MILC and bring them home to finish baking.
November 16 | Holiday Desserts
Impress your family and friends with easy, delicious holiday desserts! Learn how to create two festive favorites, including one ready to enjoy during class and another to finish baking at home.

November 17 | Holiday Salads
Move beyond traditional lettuce and tomatoes! Discover how to prepare colorful, flavorful salads that make a great addition to any holiday gathering.

December 7 | All About Dips
Get ready to dip into something delicious! Participants will learn to make a variety of tasty dips that pair perfectly with crackers, chips, pretzels, and other snacks.

December 8 | Comfort in the Cold
Warm up your winter with homemade comfort foods! Learn to prepare hearty favorites that can be enjoyed right away or frozen for a cozy meal on a chilly day.
