About this Event
Losing Dolly?! The world lost a gem, but her legacy lives on.
Join us on Tuesday, September 22 for Readin’, Rhinestones & Dolly, a celebration that is part book club, part rhinestone craft night, part Dolly trivia extravaganza, part literacy fundraiser, and part party.
We’ll spend the evening celebrating Dolly through Run, Rose, Run, the novel she co-authored with James Patterson. We’ll talk about the book, test our Dolly knowledge with trivia and other games, make something delightfully rhinestoned, and spend plenty of time talking, laughing, and celebrating with other readers.
And because Dolly’s legacy is about much more than rhinestones, we’re making literacy a central part of the night.
Magpie's own, Dr. America, is turning 30 in September, and her ideal birthday party involves books, rhinestones, Dolly Parton, and doing something good for literacy. For America’s 30th birthday, Magpie Collective has one big birthday wish: help us sponsor (at least) 30 Kentucky children for a full year of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
So, naturally, Magpie Collective Lexington is throwing a party.
It costs $15.50 to sponsor one child for an entire year, which means our goal for the evening is to raise $465—enough to sponsor 30 children.
A portion of every event ticket will go toward our 30 for 30 goal, and guests will also have the opportunity to contribute toward sponsoring additional children.
