About this Event

Session 1: Benefits of Reading

In this first session, titled Benefits of Reading, we’ll explore how reading can enrich everyday life by encouraging reflection, conversation and connection, and how reading can be enjoyed in different ways, at your own pace.

This relaxed and welcoming session is also an opportunity to find out more about what the library offers and how to get involved.

The session will include:

  • An introduction to the benefits of reading
  • Information about the Home Library Service and volunteering opportunities in libraries
  • An overview of reading groups across our libraries
  • Refreshments, a short tour of Brompton Library, and the chance to join the library

This is the first session in a three‑session series delivered in partnership with Violet Melchett Health Hub. The series offers space to reflect, share and take part at your own pace in a relaxed group setting.

No prior experience is needed for any of the sessions. You’re welcome to attend all three or to join individual sessions.
