Reading Group for Younger Teens at Rugby Library
Our Reading Group for Younger Teens is a relaxed, friendly book club with a twist – you don’t all have to read the same book. Open to anyone aged 11–14, it’s perfect whether you’re trying to read more or already love reading because it gives you the chance to chat with others about what you’re reading, share favourite characters and themes, and pick up ideas for new books to try. You can dip in and out of sessions, and each month you’ll link your reading to our Teen Book Bingo reading challenge by choosing a book that fits a different category, such as a book that became a film or TV show, a single‑word title, or a prize‑winning book. Alongside chatting about books, sessions also include fun, book‑related activities, so it’s never just talking.
These sessions are great for:
- Sharing what you’re reading and hearing recommendations from others
- Discovering new authors, genres and themes
- Exploring books through discussion and creative activities
- Meeting like-minded teens in a relaxed and comfortable setting
- Discovering what our libraries offer
Why not take a book home after the event? You'll enjoy a great read, and it's a simple way to support your library. Every loan counts.
Time: 11:00am-12:00pm
Date: Every third Saturday of the month
Age: 11-14 years old
Booking: This is a drop-in event, so booking is not required. If you do choose to book a ticket, please be aware that it does not guarantee you a space. Participation will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
