A great card reader doesn’t just learn how to interpret the cards. They learn how to understand and connect with the person sitting across from them.
Someone who is 22 may come to a reading with very different questions, pressures, priorities, and expectations than someone who is 45, 65, or 80. Relationships, career, money, family, spirituality, identity, retirement, caregiving, loss, reinvention, and purpose can all take on different meanings throughout our lives.
Reading Across Generations is a hands on class for Tarot and Oracle readers or anyone interested in card reading who wants to become more adaptable, thoughtful, and confident when reading for people of different ages and life stages.
Together, we’ll explore Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers, and older adults, while keeping one important principle at the center of our work: understanding generational influences can make us better readers, but we never want to stereotype someone simply because of their age.
In This Class, We’ll Explore:
• Card spreads designed for different life stages and concerns
• Young adulthood, relationships, career, and finding direction
• Midlife transitions, changing priorities, and reinvention
• Caregiving, retirement, grief, wisdom, purpose, and legacy
• How to adapt your questions and reading style to the individual
• Choosing decks based on imagery, language, energy, and the person receiving the reading
• How the same card can carry a very different message for someone who is 22, 45, or 70
• Communicating intuitive information in ways that are supportive, relevant, and meaningful
• Avoiding assumptions about marriage, children, career, finances, gender roles, spirituality, aging, and what someone’s life “should” look like
Jessica will demonstrate several different styles of Oracle decks, including The Work Your Light Oracle, Prism Oracle, Wisdom of the Oracle, and others. We’ll look at how the imagery, language, symbolism, and overall style of a deck may resonate differently depending on the person receiving the reading.
Hands On Technique Lab
This won’t just be a lecture!
We’ll work with different client scenarios, experiment with spreads and decks, and practice deciding how to approach each reading. You’ll have opportunities to practice adapting your questions, card interpretations, and communication style based on the individual and their stage of life.
Whether you already read professionally, read for friends and family, or are developing your Tarot or Oracle skills, this class will give you new spreads, techniques, and ideas to add to your reader’s toolbox.
You don’t have to change your intuitive style to read across generations. The goal is to become better at meeting the person in front of you where they are.
