About this Event
This screening is a collaboration between the RCA Sustainlab and RCA Plant-Based Universities Society. We hope that this event will give young creatives and artists inspiration on how different mediums, like film, can make an impact within the world.
Film information:
Eating Our Way to Extinction is a 2021 feature documentary directed by Otto and Ludo Brockway, narrated and executive-produced by Kate Winslet, Academy Award winner. This documentary features globally renowned figures and the world's leading scientists that highlight how our food systems rely on unsustainable production lines, leading to the destruction of resources that are essential to the survival of the planet.
Director Information:
Otto Brockway, co-director and editor of the film, started off within the music industry through video and sound production. Over time, his passion for making positive changes within the world led him to making more documentaries, and the formation of a studio with his brother Ludovic, called Broxstar Productions.
Event Information:
The event will kick off with the film screening, then move onto a short talk and Q&A with Otto, followed by an informal chat (with delicious vegan food!) amongst students about future actions we can take as a cohort.
P.S. Due to lifts being out of order in the Frayling Building, please contact us if you need help accessing the venue so we can make special arrangments.
