On Saturday, September 19th, 2016 from 4:00pm to 10:00pm at the Latino Center of Art and Culture located at 2700 Front Street in Sacramento, CA. Entrance fee is $10.00, and $20.00 for entrance and bidding fee. The Art Fight is more than a fundraiser—it is a celebration of resilience and joy. Local artists including Verónica Kovats will compete by creating live art pieces, auctioned off in an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. Attendees will enjoy live music, food vendors, a kids’ area, craft vendors, a silent auction, and more.
This year, Raza and Rolas will feature vibrant cumbia urbana band ¿Qiensave? Straight from Salinas, California and rolas by El Revoltoso, and Sly Boogie. There will be a silent auction featuring local artists such as Xico González, Ruby Chacón, Luis Genaro García, Ruben Ruveles, Roberta Álvarado, Miguel Gutiérrez, Jazel Muñoz, Luis Ramón García Campos, and many more.
NorCal Resist is a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting immigrant families in Northern California who are impacted by the unjust immigration system.
ICE operations are intensifying, and the need for community support is greater than ever. Last year’s fundraiser raised $13,000—enough to free an individual from detention, cover filing fees for a family, provide rent assistance, and supply food and diapers. This year, our goal is to raise $25,000 to expand our reach and meet the growing demand.
