About this Event
This is a rare performance of Raul Rothblatt's compositions. Some might remember his African-Hungarian jazz band, a few people might be familiar with his songs written in the 1990s. This will reach back even further, and includes the American premier of a dramatic piano solo piece.
Raul's music explores lush West African melodies to the pounding rhythms of Transylvania. His classical music features lush Ravel-inspired harmonies with a tinge of the Blues. His songs are both romantic and idiosyncratic. The evening with be an exploration of memory, friendship, family and a love of life's unexpected turns.
While the concert is free, preferred donations are $18. Donations of $36 will be warmly welcomed. Funds will help build Raul's next dream: Building an abolitionist heritage center at 227 Abolitionist Place. Please visit:
