You know these characters. You may recognise your own feelings in them.
The hurt of not being chosen. The courage to trust someone. The pull of jealousy. The comfort of devotion. The difficult choice between the people you love and what you believe is right.
These feelings belong to our lives today. They also run through the stories of the Ramayan.
In Rameshwaram, poet and performer Badal Mishra brings these emotions to the stage through original Hindi poetry and storytelling. Through a contemporary perspective and everyday language, the show explores what the characters felt, the choices they made, and what their journeys can teach us about our own.
You might recognise your longing in one character, your doubts in another, and your strength in someone you had never understood before. Perhaps you’ll leave feeling a little less alone in what you carry.
Rooted in bhakti, sanskar and the questions of modern life, Rameshwaram is a family-friendly experience to share with your parents, friends and loved ones. An evening to reflect on love, duty, compassion and the values we pass from one generation to the next.
