What happens when an ordinary man is asked to become Ram?
Ram Ki Ladai by Laxminarayan Lal is a powerful, thought-provoking musical theatre production that goes far beyond the familiar story of the Ramayana. The play follows Ramgulam, an ordinary man chosen to portray Lord Ram. But as rehearsals unfold, the line between performance and reality begins to blur.
The battles he faces are no longer confined to mythology, they are the battles of our own society. Through soul-stirring music, humour, sharp satire, moving emotion, and striking symbolism, the play exposes the contradictions, inequalities, and moral dilemmas that surround us every day. It asks a compelling question - Can the ideals of Ram survive in the world we live in today?
Rich in music, theatricality, and timeless ideas, Ram Ki Ladai is not a retelling of an epic, it is a bold and contemporary theatrical experience that challenges, entertains, and inspires. A performance that will make you laugh, reflect, and leave the auditorium carrying its questions long after the final curtain falls.
