RALEIGH! Let's jam together!
Mimi (Marianna) Pouchert, Cara Riffe, and Kati Franco are so grateful to be working with the Triangle Movement Collective to bring a Contact Improvisation Jam to Raleigh!
✨The Jam✨
Our vision is a sweet, daytime jam on real hardwood floors, in a location accessible for those living in or near Raleigh.
✨The Container✨
A contact improv jam that welcomes free-form dance movements, play with safe weight sharing, and artistic expression through movement
An intentional space for people to practice non-verbal deep listening and relational awareness
Consent is KEY
This is a non-sexual space
✨Some contact improv experience is recommended✨
There will be no instruction in Contact Improvisation technique provided, so this event is not recommended for complete beginners. Participants should have a foundational understanding of Contact Improvisation, including safe weight sharing and effective communication and consent practices. Those with less experience are still very welcome to drop in, observe the jams, or enjoy moving solo.
✨Jam Flow✨
2:45 arrival to the space
3:00 opening circle, cover guidelines to ensure we set the container *very important to attend*
3:15 guided warmup
3:35 jam with improvised music
4:50 closing circle
Register online or pay at the door! $15/20/25 sliding scale
