Rojan Bawa will speak about and sign Sonia's Smile: Life of a Teenage Peace Activist, on Thursday, November 19th at 6:30pm, at the Boulder Bookstore.
About the Book:
In this poignant telling of Sonia Bawa's life, (including prose, poetry and images), her father Rajan Bawa recounts the challenges faced by Sonia and her family in dealing with a terrible illness whose treatment remains suboptimal.
Sonia's all-encompassing empathy and concern with global issues bespoke a mature soul. Her entire life, right from the time that she was a toddler, through her preteen years and right up to her teenage years, Sonia demonstrated compassion and empathy towards humans as well as animals. She never let her cancer define who she was. Sonia was courageous, confident and content. Even though over 20 years have passed since Sonia's passing, her message of peace still holds relevance.
