On ‘Eternal Life No End’ (2026, Constellation Records), Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart) and Frédéric D. Oberland (Oiseaux-Tempête) weave together Arabic vocals, bouzouki, saxophone and modular electronics into a mesmerising, often sombre musical form that balances between trance, improvisation and experimentation.
The music was created against a backdrop of war and upheaval in the SWANA region, and conveys feelings of grief, anger and perseverance without ever resorting to slogans or clichés.
Throbbing rhythms, layered drones and melodies that seem to hover between memory and a hallucinatory dream state lend the compositions a unique intensity. The album has been hailed as a rare and successful fusion of traditional Arabic sounds and adventurous electronics, as compelling as it is elusive.
Live, this music unfolds like a hypnotic ritual.
‘a fractured soundtrack to a conflict-torn world… delicate percussion is balanced by dense synth layers, wind instrument interludes, and post-rock walls of electrified bouzouki’ The Quietus
