Art of Elan's HAWK Quartet is featured in Beethoven's monumental opus 130 string quartet, an emotionally dense work that was groundbreaking in its time and continues to feel radical today. This six-movement emotional rollercoaster was written near the very end of Beethoven's life and is a massive, mini-symphonic journey that shifts constantly between humor, chaos, tenderness and sadness.
It’s one of his greatest late masterpieces because it captures everything Beethoven was: brilliant, chaotic, deeply vulnerable, and entirely unwilling to play by the rules.
