About this Event
Featuring the world premiere of a new work by rising composer Yangfan Xu alongside one of the great pillars of the orchestral repertoire, this concert promises to deliver a profound emotional journey. Xu - a Juilliard graduate and DMA candidate at New England Conservatory - has already seen her works performed by some of the country's leading institutions, including the New Jersey Symphony, Albany Symphony, New York City Ballet, and New England Philharmonic. The evening culminates with Rachmaninoff's Second Symphony, a work of both breathtaking lyrical beauty and unrelenting virtuosity.
