Rarely performing in Washington, DC and recently returning from an European tour, the legendary Quinteto Astor Piazzolla will join PASO’s 2026 DC Tango Festival for a concert celebrating the music of composer and bandoneón player, Astor Piazzolla. Seating is limited!After Piazzolla passed away in 1992, his widow, Laura Escalada Piazzolla founded the Astor Piazzolla Foundation with the mission of preserving her late husband’s legacy. Quinteto Astor Piazzolla is the official legacy ensemble dedicated to preserving and celebrating the music of the famed Argentine composer. They have been performing since 1998 and have won two Latin Grammy Awards for two of their recordings.
The Quintet is composed of five virtuoso soloists with renowned careers, all deeply committed to Piazzolla’s aesthetics and artistically shaped under his direct influence:
