Queer Life in the Early Republic Guest Talk

For LGBT+ History Month please join the Rainbow History Project as Dr. Matt Champagne provides a look into American queer life in the late eighteenth century during the Early Republic era of our country. He will explore the stories of well-known figures such as Baron Von Steuben as well as lesser known stories and experiences of the average queer person.

Matt (he/him) is a public historian and interpretation specialist who has worked at historic sites for more than a decade. Matt started Queering Museums Consulting, which works with museums and historic sites to better their research, understanding, and presentation of queer history.
