About this Event
Fancy spending a Saturday evening making something with your community?
Join artist Merichel Sanchez at The 86 in Fitzroy for Sip and Stroke, a relaxed painting and drawing session focused on empowerment. Grab a drink from the bar, settle in, and let Merichel guide you through the session.
Across two relaxed hours, you're free to paint or draw whatever you like at your own pace, or join Merichel's optional guided painting session where she'll walk you through channelling your creative source.
What to expect:
- Freedom to create whatever you like, plus an optional guided painting session with Merichel
- All materials provided (acrylic paints, brushes and canvas) plus a small fruit platter to share, so just bring yourself
- Drinks available to buy at the bar
- A friendly, low-pressure room of LGBT+ people who'd like to create and connect
No experience is needed to attend. This session is designed to meet you where you're at and help you connect with your creative side, with no pressure to upskill or create a masterpiece.
Who is this for: LGBT+ people of all ages (18+) who'd like a creative, social evening.
Your host, Merichel Sanchez, is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, printmaking, soft sculpture, collage, zine making and mixed media to explore themes of feminism, queerness and self-empowerment (@DivineArtsyFartsyStore · divineartsyfartsy.com).
