AFTER THE COLLISION – What Happens Next?
Friday 20th November 2026
When a commercial vehicle is involved in a serious road traffic collision, what happens next?
The first few minutes and hours can be critical, not only for those directly involved, but for the operator too.
At our next CE Transport Law Breakfast Briefing, we’ll take you through what happens following a serious collision involving a commercial vehicle, from the immediate response at the scene through to the investigation that follows and the potential consequences for both the driver and the operator.
We’ll explore:
- What happens in the immediate aftermath of a serious collision
- The first steps operators should take
- What to expect from a police and/or DVSA investigation
- The role of collision investigation and reconstruction
- How the incident could affect the driver and your Operator’s Licence
- 5 Golden Rules for Operators Following a Serious Collision
We’re also inviting specialist external speakers to bring additional insight into collision investigation and the immediate post-collision response.
As always, the Breakfast Briefing is designed to be practical and relevant to those running commercial vehicle operations, giving you information you can take back to your business and use.
Because when a serious incident happens, knowing what to do before you are faced with it can make all the difference.
Who should attend?
Transport managers, operators, fleet managers, directors and anyone with responsibility for commercial vehicle compliance or road transport operations.
Join us on Friday 20th November 2026 for breakfast, practical guidance and the opportunity to put your questions to the experts.
