But what is Quadball 3.5?
Quadball 3.5 is a dynamic variant that allows even smaller teams to experience the drama of the sport we all love so much. A small number of players, a smaller pitch, and clever rule adjustments mean we can play even when we don't have a ton of people and volunteers.
Teams and time: Two four-player teams face off against each other. The game is played in two eight-minute halves.
Opening 3v3: For the first 5 minutes, only 3 players play for each team. We call them "cheaters" – as they combine the roles of a chaser and a beater. With the quaffle and two bludgers, they can basically do whatever they want on the pitch.
Seeker floor: In the 5th minute, the game changes! A seeker from one team and a flag runner from the other team join the pitch. In the second half, the teams swap these roles, giving both squads a fair chance to catch the flag.
