Tracey Carswell

Tracey Carswell (they/them) is a queer and trans non-binary coach, curator, educator, speaker and artist with a huge commitment to promoting equity for creatives and entrepreneurs. Their focus is on empowering individuals who have been excluded or marginalized in traditional creative and entrepreneurial fields. They invest in the growth and success of women, femmes, queer, transgender, gender non-conforming, and BIPOC leaders in the jewelry and craft industries. As the founder of Powerful in Pink, they offer coaching, business support, curation, and community building opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs. They are also co-founder of Queer Metalsmiths, a community space that honors, centers, and uplifts 2SLGBTQIA+ jewelers, metalsmiths and makers.

Sol DiazMy work opens a space to confront generational chains and unprocessed emotions. Jewelry and metalsmithing are my tools, my pen, my way of forging the untold stories of my ancestors. Each piece becomes a vessel where memory, lineage, and presence meet. Where ancestral knowledge guides my hands, and the past speaks through metal and fire. I push forward a vision of Indigenous futurism to break free from colonial ideologies in order to create space for liberation, healing, and expression. As a Two-Spirit Pech artist, this craft is a gift. It carries me toward a transcendent future for sacred Pech jewelry. Collaborating with the elements themselves: earth, where the metals come from; fire, which melts, fuses, and transforms; water, which quenches and cools; and wind, the spirit that breathes life into each piece. My tools, my hands, my body, they come together to reclaim ancestral medicine that gives me purpose.

Naomi JohnsonNaomi Johnson (they/she) is an artist and researcher based in Chicago, IL. They began metalsmithing in 2021, developing their skills in a local studio. Naomi started their handmade, small-batch jewelry business, Metal Petal Jewelry, in February 2023. Through it, they design and sell ready-to-wear and custom pieces. Naomi’s work has been exhibited nationally, and their practice includes both wearable pieces and sculptural objects. In addition to their creative practice, they co-lead Chicago Appleseed Center for Fair Courts and are deeply invested in reducing the harms of the legal system.

NYCJW25: November 17 – 23, 2025

Each November, NYC Jewelry Week proudly presents ‘The Week,’ a 7-day celebration dedicated to the art of jewelry. This annual festival invites a global audience to explore the world of jewelry through a dynamic mix of in-person and virtual experiences, spanning New York City and beyond. Our hybrid program features virtual programs streamed on YouTube alongside immersive on-site activities.

In-person, NYC Jewelry Week brings together leading figures in the jewelry industry to curate extraordinary experiences, including exhibitions, exclusive shopping opportunities, and retail collaborations.
