Pyrography - Intro to Wood-burning ADULTS ONLYDo you love to draw? Are you ready to learn a new art form? Come play with fire and make cool art! Spend the weekend learning how to create beautiful, realistic drawings on wood using a heated soldering iron.
You will start by creating sketches on paper, then learn how to transfer your drawings and convert them into finished wood-burnings. You will also learn how to enhance your work with color using oil stain, watercolor, and acrylic paint, and how to seal the wood so your finished pieces will last for years to come.
You will start on smallish 4 x 4 inch panels to experiment with the tool and the techniques and then work your way up to 8.5 x 11 panels for your finished pieces. You will have time to create three finished wood-burnings in class and will go home with information and resources about tools and equipment and your new pyrography skills to continue creating more wood-burning art at home!
