PUSHING THE LINE is a five day intensive designed to take you out of your usual ways of working and into unfamiliar territory. Across five consecutive days, five different artists will challenge you to think, make and experiment from entirely different perspectives. Each artist brings their own approach, philosophy and way of working, leading a full day of experimentation shaped by their practice. You might work with unfamiliar materials, try unconventional processes, make physically, play, take risks or simply follow an idea without knowing where it will lead.
The aim isn’t to produce a polished body of work. It’s to get curious, make without overthinking, embrace productive failure and discover new possibilities for your practice.
By stepping away from your familiar methods and working alongside artists with radically different approaches, you’ll expand your creative toolkit, challenge assumptions and return to your own practice with fresh eyes.
This is an immersive, supportive and energising week for artists who are ready to push themselves, loosen up and see what happens when they stop doing things the way they always have.
Pushing the Line is best suited to intermediate – experienced artists with an established foundation in their practice.
