Decembra sākumā pie mums viesosies nesen akreditētā Austrālijā rezidējošā Latvijas Republikas ārkārtējā un pilnvarotā vēstniece Samija Šerifa.Vēstniece priecāsies satikt ikvienu latvieti Kraistčērčā, sestdien, 5. decembrī, Latviešu namā 38 Gasson Street, 12:00, neformālā gaisotnē. Visi aicināti ņemt līdzi kādu ēdienu "potluck" stilā, ko celt kopējā pusdienu galdā.
Ja laikapstākļi atļaus, pagalmā iekurināsim grilu, tāpēc varam ņemt līdzi arī grilējamo pēc saviem ieskatiem.

The newly appointed Ambassador of Latvia in Australia and New Zealand, Samija Šerifa will be visiting Christchurch in the beginning of December.
She will be delighted to meet Latvians in Christchurch on Saturday Dec 5th at the Latvian House, 38 Gasson Street, 12:00pm. This will be an informal visit and we will meet around the potluck style lunch table.
Weather permitting we will get the BBQ out, so bring protein/veggies of your choice to put on the grill or another potluck dish.

On 12 August 2025 President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs presented the letter of accreditation to Samija Šerifa as the incoming Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the Commonwealth of Australia.
On 18 September 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Commonwealth of Australia, Samija Šerifa, submitted her credentials to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Sam Mostyn.
February 2 2026, the Governor-General of New Zealand, Dame Cindy Kiro, formally received the credentials of Samija Šerifa, appointing her as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to New Zealand.
S. Šerifa succeeds Marģers Krams, who had served as a non-resident ambassador to New Zealand since April 6, 2022.
