The Town Sustainability Office and the Environmental Advisory Commission is hosting the Town's first-ever Pumpkin Smash! Bring your carved pumpkins to Tuscarora Creek Park and give them one last hurrah before we send them off to be composted. The first 50 kids will receive a free Leesburg Cookie Co. cookie!Enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including:
- Sustainable ornament making with tree cookies
- Loudoun Wildlife sharing tips about Leave the Leaves
- Virginia Cooperative Extension with pumpkin tips, recipes, and a pumpkin seed trail mix activity (first come, first served)
- Sweet treats for purchase from the Leesburg Cookie Co.
Why Pumpkin Smash?
Every year more than 1 billion pounds of pumpkins end up in U.S. landfills after Halloween. Instead of sending your pumpkin to the trash, we're giving it a second life as compost.
Don't trash it. Smash it!
