Try your hand at subtractive 3d sculpting on a pumpkin. We will mainly be doing portraiture or a face of some sort!
Levels beginner to advanced. This is an advanced level of sculpting, however it is geared to any level as we will set it up in a way that you can take your pumpkin to whatever level you’d like!
Workshops are recommended for people ages 12 and over. Children under 12years old are welcome with parent/guardian supervision. Please get a ticket for each person (incl. all children).
The workshop is admission by donation! Suggested $20 - $30 to support facilitator fees and supplies.
This program is graciously funded by the City of Calgary and Calgary Foundation.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Carlos Roche, a multi-disciplinary artist including woodworking, painting, sculpting, plastic fabrication, epoxy, photography, amongst other things. If he is not creating something in his studio or garage, or working his 3 jobs in custom fabrication you can find him in the mountains either dirtbiking, hiking, or rock climbing. Carlos can also carve a pretty mean pumpkin, you should check out his Instagram page and check out some pumpkins!

Alcove Centre for the Arts (alcoveartscentre.ca) is a charity based in Calgary, AB which aims to make art more accessible and promote a vibrant local arts industry. Alcove Beltline (1040 8 St SW) is a multi-use, flexible venue that is available to book for private or public events. If you are looking for an affordable space that has equipment rentals available, in a central location, for 75-100 people at a time, then this space may be a great fit for you!
