Calling all carvers, painters, decorators and creative minds! We’re filling The Plant Shack with pumpkins for a weekend-long community pumpkin contest, and we want to see what you can create.Carve it. Paint it. Decorate it. Make it funny, beautiful, creepy, clever or completely ridiculous.
ENTRY DETAILS:
No Entry Fee
One entry per person
Pumpkins must be dropped off Friday, October 23 so we have time to set up the display.
CATEGORIES:
Youth
Funniest
Most Creative
The winner of each category will receive a $50 Plant Shack gift certificate.
CONTEST RULES:
1- Pumpkins may be carved, painted or decorated, but a real pumpkin or gourd must be the primary element.
2- All entries must be created and decorated by the person entering them. Parents may assist young children, but Youth Division entries should primarily be the child’s own work.
3- No open flames. Battery-operated lights are welcome.
4- No perishable additions that may spoil or attract insects. Plants and other botanical materials are welcome.
5- All entries must be appropriate for a public, family-friendly display. No discriminatory, sexually explicit or excessively graphic content.
COMMUNITY VOTING:
1- Every pumpkin will be assigned a number, and the creator’s name will remain secret until voting is over.
2- Voting begins Saturday, October 24 at 10am and ends Sunday, October 25 at 4pm.
3- Each person may cast one ballot per visit. No ballot stuffing, and please don’t touch, move or tamper with any of the entries.
WINNERS:
Winners will be announced on The Plant Shack Facebook page Sunday, October 25 at 7pm. Gift certificates may be picked up beginning Monday, October 26.
Pumpkin Pick Up:
Pumpkins must be picked up Sunday, October 25 between 4–6pm. Any pumpkins left behind may be discarded because, well...Florida.
Bring us your best pumpkin and then stop by throughout the weekend to see what our community creates and cast your vote!
