About this Event
Ages 18+
Get more comfortable making handles in this single session course. We will explore a wide variety of handle shapes and play with different ways of making handles. We will specifically play with making handles from a slab, pulling handles and then attaching, and pulling handles on the pot. Our goal will be to explore, gain skills, and play. The goal will not be to make finished pieces but instead to advance skills in a low stress environment.
Katie is an artist, mathematician, and experiential educator with two decades of experience in all of those areas. She is both a painter and a ceramic potter. On the wheel she makes a variety of functional work and often manipulates the forms, adds hand built parts, and interesting textures. As a teacher, she focuses on providing enough structure and guidance to motivate, challenge, and support students and provides plenty of room for students to play and find their own way to make the work their own!
