About this Event

Join us for an interactive American Sign Language (ASL) tour of the exhibition , which brings together new and recent works by the Los Angeles–based Colombian artist that address the inter-related issues of water and land stewardship, just energy transition, and reciprocal relationships between humans and the natural world.

Incorporating sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and video, Caycedo draws on environmental justice frameworks, traditional knowledge systems, and ecofeminism to examine the social and ecological consequences of extractive development while imagining more sustainable futures. Works from several of Caycedo’s ongoing series are featured alongside new commissions informed by the artist’s research into Midwestern prairie grasses and perennial agriculture systems.

The tour will be conducted in ASL with interpreters available.

This program is offered in collaboration with DEAF Inc. to celebrate Deaf culture and to promote accessibility to the arts. Learn more about their resources and advocacy here.

Free and open to the public. Please check in at the Welcome Desk when arriving for the tour. Parking is available in the East End Garage, and is free on weekends and daily after 5 pm.
