Ready to step away from the screen, boost your mental wellness, and make a massive difference in a shelter dog's life? Join us for our community Shelter Dog Walk!
Spending time in high-stress kennel environments can be tough on rescue pups, and getting them outside for a walk provides vital exercise, love, and socialization. At the exact same time, spending time with animals is proven to lower cortisol levels, reduce stress, and completely reset your mental clarity. It’s a win-win for everyone!
📍 Where: Friends of The Alameda Animal Shelter
🗓 When: Wednesdays to Sundays
⏰ Time: 11am to 1pm
HOW IT WORKS:
This is an open drop-in style event! You don't need to commit to the entire block of time. Come by whenever you are free between the scheduled hours. The staff will pair you up with an amazing shelter dog, go over a quick safety briefing, and head out to give these sweet pups some well-deserved fresh air.
Please follow the rules! Learn about the dog's behaviors and DON'T allow the dog to interact with other dogs
WHO CAN JOIN:
Whether you are an experienced dog owner, a first-time volunteer, or a Bay Area professional looking for a unique work-life balance break, you are welcome here!
