About this Event
In an increasingly fractured and divided world the work of reconciliation and peace-making has never been more vital. Mennonite peacemaker John Paul Lederach suggests that reconciliation lies at the very heart of Jesus’ message and ministry. As he puts it, “Reconciliation is getting to the heart of the gospel and getting on with the gospel.”
But what do we mean by peace-making and reconciliation? As Christians, how are we to understand them biblically and theologically? And how might a Christian vision of peace and reconciliation contribute constructively to the work of building a more just world?
To help us explore these questions, deepen our understanding, and reflect on the importance of this work, we are privileged to welcome Dr Chris Marshall to Te Whare Hononga for a wānanga and lecture entitled: “God was in Christ Reconciling…”: The Theology and Practice of Christian Reconciliation.
