Lecture: “Mind Over Muscle: The Hidden Psychology of Fittness” 💪
Speaker: Brandon Chien, Strength Coach & Mindful Fitness Practitioner (Specializing in Neurodivergence & QTBIPOC) đź§
Why is it so hard to start exercising, hard to stop once we do, and then hard to start again? This lecture bridges physical training with behavioral psychology and mental health. Join us for a talk that explores the psychological forces behind fitness, from habit formation and motivation to attention, identity, and healing.
We’ll look at how concepts like ADHD, reward systems, and behavioral loops shape the way we approach movement, discipline, and consistency. Using weightlifting and fitness as a lens, we’ll uncover how physical training often becomes a mirror for the mind.
This is not a fitness lecture—it’s a deep dive into the hidden psychology behind why we move and how it impacts our mind, taking into consideration our own individuality.
