About this Event
Run by Professor Rachel Tribe and Phil Muriel, this innovative event supported by the British Psychological Society (BPS), Careif (an international mental health & education charity), the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) the Association of Community Interpreters (ACIS) and the Association of Interpreters and Translators (AIT) will provide a free joint training workshop for both psychologists and interpreters. Both groups will have an opportunity to discuss their respective roles and learn from each other. Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
PSYCHOLOGISTS
This training program should improve psychologists’ knowledge, skills and the confidence required to work effectively alongside interpreters in mental health settings.
INTERPRETERS
Interpreting in mental health is one of the most challenging settings for both Level 6 Public Service Interpreters and Level 3 Community Interpreters, this training will help develop the ability to work in this context.
