About this Event
Psychological safety can be characterized as the belief that a team or organization is a safe place for interpersonal risk-taking. In a psychologically safe environment, individuals feel that they can propose an idea, make a mistake, and be themselves without fear of humiliation or exclusion. Decades of research point to psychological safety as the foundation of high-performing, inclusive, and innovative teams that continuously learn and improve their performance, by allowing teams to take risks and innovate, avoiding "groupthink", nurturing inclusion and embracing diverse perspectives. Psychologically safe teams are also the teams that people want to be a part of.
The workshop is based on the book of the same name by Minette Norman and Karolin Helbig, and strives to help leaders gain a deeper understanding of the importance of psychological safety in a workplace setting and to begin to develop the skills required to enhance psychological safety in teams.
Because psychological safety requires regular attention and ongoing commitment, this workshop is truly an introduction to the topic. It will give participants tools they can use immediately in increasing psychological safety in the teams they lead or participate in, including material from each of the five sections of the Playbook :
