For registered health professionals and running on the mornings of 21/22/23 2025, with a follow-up consolidation session on the 8 May, 2025.
This virtual training via Zoom offers an opportunity for occupational therapists and physiotherapists working with adults and children (OVER 4 YEARS of age) with neurological conditions to learn the CO-OP Approach.
Presented by:
Dr Hortensia Gimeno Associate Director for Therapies (Research) Barts Health NHS Trust, is an occupational therapist and active researcher with a background in community paediatrics.
Anne Corbett MSc DipCOT has over 25 years experience as a children's occupational therapist and NHS manager of community therapy services and is also an Associate of Better Communication CIC.
In this training you will learn:
- The rationale for using for using cognitive task orientated approaches
- The evidence for CO-OP
- The seven key features of CO-OP including dynamic performance analysis, guided discovery, and cognitive strategy use.
and experience:
- The use of dynamic performance analysis
- The use of global and domain specific strategies
- The use of guided discovery
- An evidence-based framework for practice
The second stage is a consolidation day that occurs 8 May 2025. After practicing CO-OP in your own clinical setting, you will return to join a small group half-day session to present a case study, discuss successes and challenges with implementing CO-OP, and have an opportunity for further practice of the areas presenting the greatest challenge
