Join us for Psych Night, The Harms' residency, presenting distinct sounds from Austin's rich psychedelic scene, every first Thursday. See live drawing by Ami Plasse, enjoy lush plant installation by, soak up the true Austin vibes of Sahara Lounge, one of Austin's oldest venues, meet new friends with Sahara's diverse, fun crowd! Affordable drink menu and specials each month.
Nnedimmaya. (10pm) This month features one of Austin's coolest. Nnedimmaya loops their bass and haunting vocals to create an entrancing atmosphere. They use instruments indigenous to Africa and South America to create counterpoint that feels ancestral and spiritual. When accompanied by tracks, Nnedimmaya also shares songs they've collaborated on with producers with that guarantee a good dancing time! Nnedimmaya has been in amazing Austin projects like their own Trouble in the Streets, as well as Golden Dawn Arkestra, and many collabs - including Hard Proof's anual Felabration.
Addax (11pm) Love the sounds of desert blues bands like Tinarriwen? This is Austin's own desert blues trio with a Texas twist. Desert Blues via Central Texas. Addax plays Saharan Blues filtered through the lens of three American musicians.
FreeBloo&TheFreak (9pm) Class conscious rap nonsense. FB&tF is a ragtag band of rapscallions with an affinity for weird shit. A folie a trois of diverse diasporic origins seeking sounds that excite the senses. A radical rap triio channeling their lived experience as the basis for communal poetics, rooted in the sonics of solidarity.
The Harms (Resident band, 1st Thursdays) The harms celebrates their 1st single (Lion Tamer) from their new album - Walking the Beast. The quartet fuse psychedelic rock with ’60s and ’70s soul, garage and surf. Their new album drops Nov. 6, and was recorded with Beto Martinez at the helm, Lechehouse music.
