About this Event
Provan Hall is hosting free workshops throughout November to celebrate our new exhibition, Provan Hall Uncovered: The Archaeology of Provan Hall.
During Provan Hall’s extensive conservation project, archaeologists investigated the building's history and materials to theorise what Provan Hall may have looked like in the past. These findings are set to be published in The Scottish Archaeological Journal in 2027.
On this tour, you will discover archaeological evidence of how Provan Hall once appeared, view photos from the conservation project, and gain unique insights into the lives of past residents of one of the best examples of a fortified mansion in Scotland!
What to expect on the tour:
- Archaeological Evidence: Discover what Provan Hall likely looked like across different eras.
- Behind-the-Scenes Photos: View imagery from the 2019–2023 conservation project.
- Local History: Gain fascinating insights into the lives of Provan Hall's past residents.
Provan Hall has free parking and is accessible from the city centre via the X19 bus.
