My personal experience of acquiring businesses is extensive, having worked on over 150 deals for many clients including members of The Business Buyers Club and on my own business portfolio of over £26M at Fidelis.
I co-own a group of businesses that I acquired into Fidelis Group and I am actvely involved in further acquisitions into my personal vehicle. I founded Fidelis Advisory after realising the demand from other entrepreneurs was there, both to advise and project manage on acquiring businesses where they already had a relationship with the Seller or to help a business owner really understand the value of their businessm how to structure and secure their exit for best value.
My small but growing team are very experienced in all aspects of M&A and we provide a unique, personal and dedicated service - whether educational or advice or project management.
We are also experts in the successful transition of an acquired business from the old to the new owners - an aspect of M&A which is usually badly overlooked.
I'm a published author on the subject of business and acquisitions, have appeared on radio and TV and give regular talks to business audiences. I became a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing in 2003 and have acted as a Non-Executive director to the IDM North, the Council of Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Manchester Council for Voluntary Organisation.
I come from a military background, and I've found that the core values I've learned from being in the military also apply in business. I work transparently and honestly, and I have a 'no one left on the battlefield' approach. I'm still active with the army reserves and I love that I can be a part of the organisation which has given me so much.
I'm at my happiest helping business owners and entrepreneurs to achieve their goals - it really does give me enormous pleasure and satisfaction! This would be closely followed by skiing down a mountain or camping wild style under the stars.
