is our artist-in-residence through February. He paints Chicago from memory — a block in Hazel Crest, his nephew's clothing line on a t-shirt, two figures leaning toward each other with their hands out. Layered acrylic, worked by hand until the memory holds still.
Come meet him. Ask about the kite. Find out why every painting starts with a question instead of an image.

Beckham's residency is part of Proof of Life, The Emily Hotel's 2026 art program on presence, memory, and being human in the age of AI. Every piece on the wall was made by hand. That's the point.
