Prometheus: An American Vocal Consort, under the direction of Artistic Director R. Paul Crabb, presents a program exploring how sacred and secular traditions alike speak to the human spirit. Featuring a local premiere and drawing on the voices of composers from Iceland to Ireland, Lithuania to Italy, and the Philippines to South Africa, the concert celebrates what unites people across cultures and distances — communicated directly and passionately through a cappella song. This collaborative performance is alongside Bales Chorale in the acoustically renowned Bales Recital Hall at the University of Kansas. Among the featured works is the hometown premiere of “A Hopeful Light,” a new composition written for Prometheus by Liberty native Hans Bridger Heruth.
