Discover the fascinating world of Mississippi kites! Once rare in cities, Mississippi kites are now among North America's most common urban-breeding raptors. While their presence offers incredible opportunities for research and public appreciation, it occasionally sparks conflict when nesting birds aggressively defend their territories in public parks.
Join us to dive into the natural history of these remarkable raptors, explore the challenges of urban wildlife management, and uncover the mysteries still surrounding their migration and genetics.
Doors open at 6:30. Light refreshments and conversation with program starting at 7PM. Visit our website at fwas.org for a map to the meeting room and/or a zoom link for those who prefer to attend virtually. Hope to see you there!
