Tegoroczny wykład poświęcony będzie wyzwaniom i sprzecznościom demokratycznego państwa prawa we współczesnym świecie globalnym. Problematyka ta łączy niemiecką tradycję filozoficzną ze współczesnymi pytaniami o demokrację, praworządność i przyszłość państwa.

The Warsaw Branch of the Polish Philosophical Society invites you to a lecture by Prof. Mamuka Beriashvili from the Georgian Technical University in Tbilisi, which will take place on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw.
Lecture Topic:
Herausforderungen und Widersprüche des demokratischen Rechtsstaates in der modernen globalen Welt
(Challenges and Contradictions of the Democratic State Governed by the Rule of Law in the Contemporary Global World)
The lecture will be delivered in German. Attendees will be provided with an English translation of the text.
Prof. Mamuka Beriashvili specializes in classical German philosophy, with a primary focus on the work of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the *Internationale Hegel-Gesellschaft* (International Hegel Society) and organized the 35th International Hegel Congress in Tbilisi in 2024.
Prof. Beriashvili has maintained ties with the Polish philosophical community for many years. He was also an acquaintance of the late Prof. Jakub Kloc-Konkołowicz. This will not be his first visit to our Faculty; in 2022, he delivered a lecture here on the Hegelian interpretation of the transition from the realm of nature to the realm of culture.
This year’s lecture will address the challenges and contradictions facing the democratic state governed by the rule of law in today’s globalized world. The subject matter bridges the German philosophical tradition with contemporary questions concerning democracy, the rule of law, and the future of the state.
